Description : Dapagliflozin inhibits subtype 2 of the sodium-glucose transport proteins (SGLT2), causes blood glucose to be eliminated through the urine, potently reduce intravascular volume through osmotic diuresis and natriuresis. Impressive results of the landmark SGLT2 inhibitor trials have becoming a powerful adjunctive therapy for the management of people with diabetes and HF- ESC Heart Fail. 2019 Oct; 6(5): 927–935. An interesting observation was made in patients where vildagliptin was combined with insulin. In these patients, an insulin sparing effect was seen, but more interestingly, less hypoglycemia was observed.
